“Crusader” Athletics

Clear Water Academy is proud to be a member of the Calgary Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) where it takes part in interscholastic team and individual sports such as Cross Country Running, Golf, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Floor Hockey, Rugby, Track and Field and Soccer. The Clear Water Academy “Crusader” name is synonymous with developing fine coaches and athletes who have shone in and around Calgary and South Central Alberta. Last season was our most successful as we earned four championships in Junior High basketball; a Junior Boys championship, a Senior Boys championship and a Senior Girls championship. After winning the ISAA, the Senior Boys went on to finish third in South Central Alberta while our girls won the South Central Alberta Championship. Our co-ed soccer team also won the school’s first CISAA soccer championship. Meanwhile our boy’s floor hockey team was the silver medalist in the CISAA. This year promises to be just as exciting with a strong nucleus of returning athletes, new athletes and some new additions to our already strong coaching staff. Upgrades to our facilities include a new gym floor and a brand new fitness room for training our student athletes.

Outdoor Education
The Outdoor Education option at Clear Water Academy is one of the many popular programs being offered at the Grade 7-10 levels. Starting in Grade 7 students have the opportunity to take part in many lifelong activities that are challenging, exciting and educational at the same time. Units include Kayaking, Shelter Building, Wilderness First Aid, Canoeing, Backpacking, Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Orienteering, Downhill Skiing, Golfing, Tennis, Scuba Diving and Cross Country Skiing. Over night horseback riding and backpacking trips are the highlights of the course. Some life long indoor sports such as swimming, water polo, bowling, curling, squash and wall climbing are also offered as alternative units.
