KINDERGARTEN

The Kindergarten program extends the learning from Pre-K
3 and Pre-K 4 programs through:
Listening,
Viewing, and Speaking
• Listen and view attentively and critically,
as well as speak purposefully and articulately in situations
that serve different purposes and involve a variety
of audiences.
Reading and Literature
• Effectively apply a variety of reading strategies
for comprehending, interpreting, and evaluating a wide
range of texts including fiction, non-fiction, classic,
and contemporary works.
Writing and English Language
• Use mechanical and grammatical conventions in
written compositions.
Composition
• Demonstrate competence in the general skills
and strategies of composition and the writing process.
Number Concepts
• Count objects to 20.
• Use number words in daily experiences.
Number Operations
• Basic understanding of adding and subtracting
to 10.
Patterns and Relations
• Recognize and produce a pattern.
Space and Shape
• Identify and classify 3D objects.
Statistics and Probability
• Collect and organize data on a graph.
Community and Environmental Awareness
Religion
• “My Mother & Father on Earth and in
Heaven”
• Prayers.
• Chapel.
