Clear Water Academy Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors, which bears ultimate responsibility for ensuring that Clear Water Academy fulfills its mission. The Board sets policy and hires and oversees the Executive Director to manage the day to day operations of the school. 

The membership of the Board of Directors is currently comprised of the following individuals, which includes priests and local lay members. All members with the exception of Father Gannon LC reside in Calgary.The board members are as follows:

Kent Wang
Chairman of the Board

Mr. Wang and his wife, Kathy, own and operate Olaf Packaging Group, a mid-sized food packaging company which services retailers and food processors in Western Canada. Mr. Wang graduated with a Bachelor of Management degree from the University of Lethbridge in 1994, then articled at Price Waterhouse where he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1996. He continued with Price Waterhouse until 1998 in order to gain experience working in Central America. Mr. Wang then held senior roles in finance and operations at Loblaw Companies until leaving to join Olaf Packaging in 2004. Kent joined the Board of Directors of Clear Water Academy in 2007 as a Director and member of the Finance Committee. Kent and Kathy have three children; the two older children are enrolled at Clear Water Academy, with the third set to enroll in 2011.

Dan Britton
Director

Mr. Britton is the founder and President of Chariot Carriers Inc., a market leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of innovative sporting child carrier products. Chariot Carriers is a Calgary based company with production in Calgary and Asia, and sales in over 20 countries worldwide. Dan graduated with a Bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Calgary in 1989. Throughout and after university Dan competed internationally as a triathlete, which included extensive travel and participation in 1991 in both the short course (i.e. Olympic length) world championships in Australia and the Ironman long course world championships in Hawaii. During this period Dan combined his passion for health & fitness and his interest in making products to conceive of and start-up Chariot Carriers. Since its inception in 1992, Chariot Carriers has been recognized through awards of excellence in the areas of product design, exporting, and entrepreneurship.

Dan and his wife Jodie have been involved with Clear Water Academy for many years. Currently three of their five children are students at the school, and they are looking forward to their younger two attending in the future.

Robert (Bob) Christianson
Director and Chair of the Campaign Committee

Mr. Christianson is the founder and CEO of Dighu Media Inc., a social media company that creates products to promote, encourage, celebrate and reward acts of common humanity (good deeds). Mr. Christianson recently served in the capacity of vice president of business development of Iron Will Innovations, a think tank formed to bring game-changing products to the global market. He continues to advise Iron Will as it deploys its wearable computer interface in military, education, business and gaming applications.

Mr. Christianson was co-founder, and director of RepeatSeat Ltd., a company that developed the online and mobile ticketing presence for Cineplex Entertainment LLP. Prior to co-founding RepeatSeat, he was president of Halo Power Inc., a provider of electrical power generation through the use of micro turbines and gas expansion. Mr. Christianson has considerable experience in the oil and gas services industry, particularly in the areas of marketing and management. This included time spent in Eastern Europe and China. Mr. Christianson was President of Christianson Pipe Ltd. (CPL), and jointly founded and served in various capacities at Chriscor Industries, International Petroleum Equipment Corporation and IPEC (IPE:TSE), a publicly traded oilfield services company that was subsequently sold to Flint Energy Services.

Mr. Christianson is an entrepreneurial and ethical executive with more than 25 years of international experience managing marketing, sales, corporate finance, product development, acquisitions and divestitures in private and public companies and in both traditional and IT based corporations. Mr. Christianson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Calgary, and a Masters of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Bob and his wife Angela are one of the founding families of Clear Water Academy. They have six children, all of whom have attended Clear Water Academy. 

Marianne Divjak Faba
Director and Chair of Technology  Committee

Ms. Marianne Divjak Faba has been working with ENDOW since September 2009. She is one of the key members to bring ENDOW, an International Women's Ministry, to Canada. ENDOW is a non profit organization that offers Catholic educational programs throughout the diocese and continues to make its way across Canada. Ms. Divjak Faba entered the business world in 1994 when starting to work with RIS, Resource Information Systems Inc, an IT consulting firm. Within her role of Vice President, Corporate Services, she was responsible for all the operational support of the company's Applications Support and Maintenance (ASM) services and solutions. In 2007, RIS was sold to Sierra Systems and Marianne stayed within the Vice President, AMS Operations role during the transition. Marianne and her husband Dan have five children, two of which attend Clear Water Academy, with the two younger children to enroll in 2011.

Fr. John Gannon, LC
Director

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Fr. John Gannon was ordained a priest in Rome on November 25, 2004 after training in Spain, Colombia, Brazil and Italy. He spent 2004-2006 obtaining his licentiate in moral theology from Regina Apostolorum University in Rome, Italy. In 2005, he became the Vice-Rector of the general directorate in Rome. In 2006, he moved to Canada to become the Vice-Rector of the novitiate in Cornwall, Ontario. He currently directs the Regnum Christi movement in Western Canada.

Douglas (Doug) Koop
Director and Chair of Marketing Committee

Mr. Doug Koop is the Broker / Owner of RE/MAX Realty Professionals, a large Real Estate Brokerage in Calgary. Mr. Koop graduated from the University of Calgary in 1984 and entered into the business world as a partner in R-Mer Impact Devices, a start up bullet proofing business. After several successful years the company was sold and he joined Ikon Office Solutions an international Fortune 500 company. Doug moved from sales to management positions and finally to the position of Vice President of Sales. He sat on many industry advisory boards during his 18 year tenure including Ikon's Sales and Marketing Council and the North American Graphics Council. Doug left Ikon Office Solutions in 2005 when he purchased RE/MAX Realty Professionals. Doug and his wife Kathy have two children who have both attended Clear Water Academy for several years.

Andrew (Andy) Pernal
Director

Mr. Pernal is President of Strad Energy Services Ltd., a publicly traded oil and gas services company serving the energy industry in Canada and the United States. Andy holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Accountant with wide-ranging senior financial experience in private and public companies including most recently as Chief Financial Officer of Stone Creek Properties and Chief Financial Officer of Craig Media, both based in Calgary. Prior to moving to Calgary in 2003, Andy was Vice President, Finance of MTS Communications in Winnipeg. He also spent eight years with Moffat Communications in various senior financial capacities including Chief Financial Officer until Moffat’s sale to Shaw Communications in 2001.Prior to his experience in industry, Andy spent nine years in public accounting, primarily with Deloitte in Winnipeg.

Andy has also been involved with various community and charitable organizations including Board member of Christ the King School and Trustee of Christ the King Parish in Winnipeg, Treasurer of both the Western Canada Aviation Museum and the Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba. In Calgary, he has been involved in various volunteer capacities with Springbank Minor Hockey Association. Andy has been a member of the Clear Water Academy Board of Directors since 2005 and was chairman of the board from 2007 to 2010.

Andy and his wife Val have three boys all of whom have attended Clear Water Academy.  

Mrs. Erin Bradford
Director
Erin was formerly a member of the CWA Board of Directors from 2001-2003.  She re-joined the CWA Board in the fall of 2012.  Erin was previously a High School English teacher at Clear Water Academy from 2006-2008, and also taught grades 2/3 at CWA in 1997, working in administration the following year.  She is currently a full-time mom of four children, three of whom are at CWA (the youngest won't be able to attend until 2016).

Erin received her undergraduate degree in English from St. Francis Xavier University.  She completed her Master's degree in English at Queen's University and obtained her Education degree from the University of Calgary.  Erin completed the Institute of Corporate Director's Not For Profit Director's Education course in 2012.  She currently chairs the CWA Board Human Resources Committee.  

 
Mr. Rob Rakochey
Director
Rob is a lawyer and partner with Norton Rose Canada LLP, formerly Macleod Dixon in their disputes practice. Rob advises numerous corporate and commercial clients in a variety of areas such as  shareholder disputes, commercial transactions, employment matters, occupational health and safety investigations and incidents, and white collar crime investigations and regularly matters. Disputes are resolved through a wide range of techniques including negotiation, litigation or arbitration. Rob is also the Calgary chair of the firm's Pro Bono committee managing and providing free legal advice to those in need.

Rob is also very active in the community through Rotary, the Alberta Handball Association, and the Business Fore Calgary Kids Foundation. Rob and Launie have two boys at  Clear Water, Rory (Gr. 8) and Carter (Gr.6).Their third son. Jerome, attends Gr. 4 at John Costello. 

Mr. Sean Dooley
Director 

Mr. Dooley is a Chartered Accountant specializing in Canadian income tax and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Ottawa. Through his consulting and advisory practice, Sean provides strategic and operational tax direction to public and private corporations.  Previously, Sean was at TransAlta Corporation for five years, overseeing the company’s international tax functions in Australia, Barbados, Mexico and New Zealand. In addition to his time in industry, Sean worked in public accounting for over 14 years, primarily within the tax group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Sean has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, corporate structuring and reorganizations, and international transactions. He has presented tax topics to various audiences, written papers and was a facilitator for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ In-Depth Tax Courses for four years.

Sean joined the Clear Water Academy Board in 2009 and was a member of the finance committee until 2011. He has served as a volunteer in various roles for many organizations and parishes. Sean and his wife Christine have been involved with the school for many years and their three daughters attend Clear Water Academy.
