Elementary | Grades 1 - 3

Students in Grades 1 to 3 develop lifelong habits, including organizational skills, critical thinking, perseverance, and a desire to produce high-quality work, all within a nurturing environment that promotes an enthusiasm for learning.

We focus on building strong relationships with our students and their families. We cultivate a nurturing, supportive, and exploratory learning environment for our students. With small class sizes and a supportive atmosphere, students feel secure to explore and take risks in their learning. We instill values of faith, virtue, and a commitment to serving others.

Academic Achievement

We offer a rigorous academic program focusing on the development of superior skills in literacy and numeracy. Our educational program places a strong emphasis on developing communication skills, including reading comprehension, composition, and public speaking.

Your child will build the confidence necessary for success in the primary grades and beyond!

Leadership Programs

In our Leadership program for Grades 1 - 3, service lies at its core. As a Catholic school, we uphold Jesus as the ultimate exemplar of service. Through a structured rotation schedule, all our students have equal opportunities to actively participate in a variety of tasks, such as organizing the classroom library, tidying up after lunch, and providing assistance to teachers. By engaging in these activities, our students cultivate a spirit of selflessness and foster a deep sense of responsibility towards their school community.

In the school's "Buddy Program", older classes, Grades 4 - 6, are paired up with younger classes to build positive social connections, offer role modelling and provide assistance with basic skills.

Grades 1 - 3 Highlights

Physical Education, Fine Arts & Faith Formation

In Grades 1–3, students at Clear Water Academy engage in a well-rounded program that nurtures the body, creativity, and spirit. Physical Education builds foundational physical literacy through cooperative games, gymnastics, and skill-based activities such as throwing, catching, jumping, and striking. Fine Arts and Music invite students to explore rhythm, movement, speech, and melody, guided by specialists and enriched through themed assemblies and Christmas and Mother's Day concerts celebrated throughout the year. Faith formation is supported through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a hands-on, Montessori-inspired approach that allows children to encounter Scripture and liturgy in a meaningful way, fostering joy and a personal relationship with Jesus.

BUILDING A SOLID FOUNDATION

"When the students come to the school, the teachers comfort them, nurture them, make sure they have what they need."
