Marie Gonzalez-Olivo

After graduating from Clear Water Academy in 2017, I went on to study Biology at the University of Alberta. My passion for science and patient care eventually led me to continue my studies at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Vision Science and my Doctorate of Optometry.

My time in school gave me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of vision and eye health while gaining hands-on clinical experience working with diverse patient populations. Throughout that journey, I developed a strong appreciation for the impact vision care can have on a person’s daily life, confidence, and overall well-being.

Today, I am practicing as a licensed optometrist in Calgary, Alberta, where I have the privilege of caring for patients of all ages. I especially enjoy building relationships with my patients and helping them see their best—whether through routine eye care, managing ocular health, or finding solutions tailored to their individual needs. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a profession where I can combine science, healthcare, and meaningful patient connection every day.
