Sister Aimee Marie Oliphant

After growing up in Calgary, Alberta, I first began to consider religious life around the age of nine after being inspired by Saint Bernadette. As I grew older, that desire to belong completely to the Lord never went away. Although there were times when His call was not entirely clear to me, I tried to remain open and trust that He would lead me one step at a time.

I first encountered the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation in 2010 while attending a Jesus Caritas retreat. In 2016, I began more seriously discerning a vocation to religious life.

Looking back, I can see how gently the Lord guided me throughout that journey, giving me exactly what I needed at each stage and helping me grow in freedom and trust.

On July 25, 2025, I made my final profession of vows with the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia during Mass in the Chapel of St. Cecilia at the Motherhouse. It was a day filled with immense joy, grace, and gratitude. Surrounded by the prayers and love of my sisters, family, and friends, I felt with complete confidence that this was the vocation the Lord was calling me to. It was truly the best day of my life.

For those discerning, I would say vocation is not a linear path but a process of ongoing discernment. The priesthood is not simply a career but a configuration to Christ Himself. It requires patience, prayer, and openness to the Holy Spirit, trusting that God guides each step in His time.
