Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors governs the Clear Water Academy Foundation. It ensures Clear Water Academy and its faculty fulfill its mission to educate Catholic Christian leaders as a top-ranked school. The Board sets policy and hires and oversees the Executive Director to manage the school's day-to-day operations. All CWA Foundation Board Members reside in Calgary, AB, including priests and local lay members.
Sean Maxwell, Chairman
Sean is a lawyer and partner with Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, practicing as a member of the Pensions, Benefits and Executive Compensation Group. Called to the bars of both Ontario and Alberta, his practice touches on all issues relating to pension, employee benefits and deferred compensation plans including fiduciary duties, income tax and securities law compliance, ongoing plan administration and compliance issues, disputes over the use of plan assets, development and documentation of pension, employee benefit and deferred compensation plans, and issues arising from corporate transactions and commercial insolvencies. Sean is also a member of the firm's Associates Committee. Sean is also active in the community, serving as the Secretary of the Calgary Girls Choir Society and is the Together in Action coordinator for St. Michael Catholic Community. Sean and Theresa's three daughters all attend Clear Water Academy.
Andrea Bernal, Director
Tom is a professional engineer, and the Chairman, President, CEO, & Co-Founder of Caltex Resources, a growing private E&P company with operations in Western Canada. Prior thereto, Tom co-founded Caltex Energy and Krang Energy which were also private E&P companies that were successfully sold. Tom is/has been on the Board of Directors of several other private E&P and one service company. Tom has Bachelor of Science Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. Tom is active in the community and coaching with various sports associations that his sons are active within. Tom and his wife, Stephanie, have three sons who attend Clear Water Academy.
Dan Britton, Director
Dan was the founder of Calgary-based Chariot Carriers, a market leading designer and manufacturer of sporting child carrier products for active families. Chariot's products were sold internationally and the company was recognized through awards of excellence in the areas of product design, exporting, and entrepreneurship. After managing and helping to build Chariot for 20 years, Chariot was acquired by the Thule Group in 2011. Dan continues to work with Thule as its Director of Innovation for its Active With Kids division. Dan has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Calgary. Dan and his wife Jodie have been involved with Clear Water Academy for many years. Many of their seven children are attending or have attended Clear Water Academy, and their oldest son recently graduated from the school after attending for 14 years (including Junior Kindergarten). Dan and Jodie are excited to journey with the school for many more years!
Fr. Avinash Colaco, Director
Fr. Kenneth LeBlanc, LC, Director
Fr. Kenneth was born in Rogersville, New Brunswick, Canada. He was ordained a Legionary priest in 2002. He is the Superior of the Legionaries of Christ Community in Calgary and resides with his fellow Legionaries at Sacred Heart Parish. He serves in a variety of ways including as Chair of the Regnum Christi Locality College and as Chaplain for the Women’s Regnum Christi Section in Calgary.
Aaron J. Noga, Director
Mr. Aaron J. Noga is a past partner at one of Canada's leading professional accounting services firms. Aaron holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Great Distinction) degree from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of financial experience in publicly traded and privately held companies, in Canadian, US and international markets, serving a variety of industries including private equity, real estate, financial services, manufacturing, and energy and oilfield related services. Aaron has also been involved with various community and charitable organizations and has held several positions as Board member and treasurer of the Saskatchewan Pipe Band Association in Regina, SK and as the treasurer of the North American Pipe Band Association in Salt Lake City, UT. Aaron has been a member of the Clear Water Academy Finance Committee since 2015 and joined the Board of Directors in 2016. Aaron and his wife Monica have one son who attends Clear Water Academy.
Greg Oberti, Director
Greg Oberti is a Partner who covers PwC’s Capital Projects & Infrastructure practice in Alberta and is the Canadian Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Leader for PwC. In addition, he is a member of PwC's Global Deals Origination practice and is the National Cleantech Industry Advisory Leader for PwC Canada. Prior to his current role, Greg spent time overseas working at one of the world's largest commodity trading firms. Greg is highly collaborative and excels at developing multi-functional solutions for clients across the globe.
Greg has over a decade of international experience and has worked in over 15 countries assisting clients and colleagues on large scale infrastructure projects in Africa, Central America, South-East Asia, Australia, Canada and Europe. He also speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish fluently. Since returning to Canada, Greg has executed multiple large mandates for some of the largest Canadian pension funds as well as for Canadian corporates in various infrastructure assets including bulk fuel storage assets, waste to energy assets, green fuel assets, LPG export terminals, fuel distribution networks, pipelines, and port terminals. Outside of the office, Greg is a Sessional Instructor at the University of Calgary where he teaches an undergraduate course and a graduate level (MBA) course in Project Finance. He is also an avid skier and an aviation enthusiast holding multiple pilot licenses. Greg devotes considerable time to his community and in that regard is passionate about contributing on economic development and education-related issues.
Rob Rakochey, Director
Rob is a lawyer and partner with Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP in their disputes practice. Rob advises numerous corporate and commercial clients in a variety of areas such as shareholder disputes, commercial transactions, employment matters, occupational health and safety investigations and incidents, and white collar crime investigations. Disputes are resolved through a wide range of techniques including negotiation, litigation, or arbitration. Rob is also the Calgary chair of the firm's Pro Bono committee managing and providing free legal advice to those in need. Rob is also very active in the community through Rotary, the Alberta Handball Association, and the Business Fore Calgary Kids Foundation. Rob and Launie have two boys at Clear Water Academy. Their third son, Jerome, attends St. Matthew Junior High School.
