Formation Instructor

Position Overview

Clear Water Academy is seeking a candidate for the position of Formation Instructor. This position begins on August 21, 2025, for the commencement of the 2025-2026 academic year. 
  1. The Formation Instructor is responsible for supporting the spiritual growth of students, helping them to discover the greatness of being a child of God, assisting them in their prayer life, and motivating them to participate in the apostolic mission of the Church.
  2. The Formation Instructor influences the Catholic culture of the school, helping create a physical and social environment where members of the school community can encounter Christ.
  3. The Formation Instructor is responsible for supporting the human formation of the students; ensuring that personal attention is provided to help them to grow in self-knowledge and virtue.
  4. The Formation Instructor carries out all their responsibilities with the awareness that they are above all an apostle of Christ especially with a testimony of faith, virtuous personal life, and professional dedication to the mission entrusted to them within the school.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The specific responsibilities of the Formation Instructor include, but are not limited to, the following:

    1. Contributing to and implementing the formation department's annual program.
    2. Updating the Dean of Students on the integral formation of students on a regular basis.
    3. Accompanying the female students in Grades 7 to 12 to support them in their personal growth in virtue and self-knowledge.
    4. Supporting female students on their personal faith journey in knowing and loving Jesus Christ.
    5. Working with and encountering female students in one on one meetings, small group meetings, and classroom settings so as to know, love and serve the formation needs of the students.
    6. Planning, promoting, and organizing activities that support and positively impact the spiritual life of the students, such as special liturgical events (Advent and Lent), Adoration, School Masses, Via Crucis (Way of the Cross), living rosary, etc.
    7. Contributing to the distinction of the school environment and school formation events such as: chapel upkeep, bulletin boards, altar décor, sacristan duties and more.
    8. Motivating, training and organizing student involvement in Mass ministries and various school life activities and events.
    9. Cultivating a strong mystique and high degree of leadership among students.
    10. Promoting the sacramental and spiritual life of the school.
    11. Providing support for the virtue program for Grades 7-12, with a particular focus on the growth of the female students.
    12. Providing support to the Dean of Students in the programming, coordination and implementation of retreats for students.
    13. Providing support to the Dean of Students in the programming, coordination and implementation apostolic activities.
    14. Providing support to the Dean of Students in the programming, coordination and implementation of the High School mission trip, pilgrimage and other trips.
    15. Attend school trips, outdoor education activities and extracurricular activities and events when possible.
    16. Assisting with the Student Council as needed.
    17. Other duties as assigned

 

Reporting Structure

The Formation Instructor reports to the Dean of Students. The Formation Instructor is a member of the Formation Team presided by the Formation Director.
